Dementia and Alxheimer’s Care

Dementia is not a specific disease. Instead, it describes a group of symptoms affecting intellectual and social abilities severely enough to interfere with daily functioning. It is caused by conditions or changes in the brain. Different types of dementia exist, depending on the cause. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type.–Mayo Clinic

Today, an estimated 5.3 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease.  But even more Americans suffer from other forms of Dementia.  There are eight medically recognized forms of dementia and no two people experience dementia in the same way.

At Stay At Home® we recognize this fact and help you develop a customized care plan that meets the needs of you and your loved one.   As dementia progresses, we will be there with you every step of the way, adapting routines and care plans.  Our caregivers will help to:

  • Monitor daily activities
  • Provide daily observations of changes in behavior
  • Create enjoyable and meaningful activities
  • Plan and prepare nutritious meals
  • Provide dressing and grooming reminders
  • Provide companionship

Caring for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or other Dementia can be challenging.  Yet, rather than sending them to a hospital or a care facility, you can allow them to stay in his or her own home as long as possible. And with our services we become a great relief for you.
